Je ne me tapperais pas tout la traduction du tutorial pour le root et l'installation mais je vais vous donner tout les lien nécéssaire. LISER TOUT AVANT et si vous êtes pas confortable je vous conseil de ne pas essayer.
Pour le root

Ensuite il vous faut installer cyanogen mod
INSTRUCTIONS:
- First time flashing CM 6 to your G2 (or coming from another ROM)?
1. Unlock/root your device and install Clockwork Recovery via ROM Manager(utiliser ce guide http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/flash-install-clockworkmod-recovery-on-htc-t-mobile-g2-with-rom-manager/)
2. Do a Nandroid backup!
3. Install ROM from SD Card > (select .zip file) > (Check the boxes to wipe and backup)
Considering you already did a nandroid backup just select the option to wipe...
4. Optionally install the Google Addon
